Potential of Models

WHAT MUSEUM ARCHI-DEPOT has been introducing professional architectural thinking in an openly accessible way through architectural models. This exhibition approaches models not merely as scaled-down representations, but as a medium that carries fragments of concepts and thoughts, focusing on their expansive aspects. Eight groups of architects who began their careers primarily after 2010 will present their architectural thinking in its purest form through models, videos, and spatial installations created specifically for this exhibition.
Advancing information technology has accelerated societal change, and architecture is now required to respond and renew itself within shorter cycles. Meanwhile, this exhibition reconfirms a perspective that envisions architecture's relationship with its environment and society over extended periods, offering an opportunity to reexamine the scope of architectural thinking. The title “Corrugated / Coral” is an indirect metaphor that suggests a state in which different times, scales, and formation rates overlap and coexist.

Placing the reality before us slightly at a distance, and bringing the distant future closer at hand to reflect upon. We hope the architects' explorations will offer visitors an opportunity to view the world from perspectives beyond their everyday experience.

Exhibitors

Highlight

This dynamic, experience-based exhibition features new works created specifically for it by eight groups of cutting-edge architects.
The venue features a model with a perimeter of approximately 12 meters, installations that allow visitors to step inside and experience the space, and objects that viewers can hold in their hands. Through diverse models of varying scales and formats, including video and spatial installations, visitors can physically and spatially experience the architects' thinking.
